BusinessFace ("the App") is developed and operated by AlfieAi, a developer legally registered in Taiwan. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data across our services. We are committed to total transparency, data ownership, and protecting your privacy on a global scale, adhering to regulations including GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), and PIPEDA (Canada).
Data Collection & Processing
Our app is designed with a "Local-First" philosophy. We do not maintain a central database of your personal information.
- On-Device OCR: All text recognition and business card processing are performed locally using on-device machine learning. No image data or extracted text is transmitted to our servers for processing.
- No Tracking: We do not collect identifiers, location data, or usage habits. We do not use third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs.
- Contact Data: Any contact information you scan or create is saved directly to your device's secure storage and, if enabled, your private iCloud account.
Cloud Sync & Storage
BusinessFace utilizes Apple's iCloud infrastructure to provide seamless synchronization across your devices.
- iCloud Integration: When enabled, your data is stored within your personal Apple iCloud account. This data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- End-to-End Control: We do not have access to your iCloud credentials or the data stored within your iCloud container.
Subscriptions & Payments
Premium features are available via auto-renewable subscriptions.
- Payment Processing: All transactions are processed through Apple Pay and the App Store. We do not see, collect, or store your credit card numbers or billing addresses.
- Transaction Data: We receive only an anonymized transaction identifier from Apple to verify your subscription status.
Your Global Rights
Regardless of your location, we provide the following protections and rights:
- Right to Access & Portability: You can export your entire library as a spreadsheet file directly from the app settings.
- Right to Erasure: You can delete any card or your entire database at any time. Deleting the App and your iCloud app data will permanently remove all records.
- California Privacy Rights (CCPA): We do not "sell" or "share" your personal information as defined by California law.
- European Rights (GDPR): We process data based on your explicit consent (scanning a card) and for the performance of the contract (providing the app service).
Data Retention
We retain your data only for as long as you choose to keep the App installed and your data in iCloud. We do not keep copies of your data once you have deleted it from your device and cloud storage.
Children's Privacy
BusinessFace is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because all processing is local, we do not have a mechanism to store or identify users by age.
